Volunteer Coordinator
Description/ Expectations
We are looking for an outgoing, highly
organized individual to be responsible for the recruitment, retention
and recognition of Roses & Rosemary volunteers working towards the
ultimate goal of building a strong volunteer program which keeps our
volunteers engaged.
Tasks Include
·
Actively recruiting new
volunteers through volunteer posting sites, social networking sites,
referrals.
·
Keeping postings on Roses
& Rosemary site and outside sites updated.
·
Monitoring email account
and respond to volunteer interest and questions.
·
Reviewing volunteer
applications and resumes to match volunteer skills and interests with
a role.
·
Interviewing and reference
checking volunteers for certain positions.
·
Developing and maintaining
a volunteer database.
·
Delivering on boarding
materials to new volunteers and holding orientations when necessary.
·
Training volunteers.
·
Creating Special Event
Teams for 1-2 Roses & Rosemary events per year.
·
Preparing yearly report on
volunteer activity.
·
Volunteer acknowledgement
and recognition.
Tasks in the future could include
·
Developing a
comprehensive, year round recruitment, retention and training program
·
Creating approaches to
keep our volunteers engaged and committed to the organization
·
Brainstorming new and
exciting ways to recruit volunteers
·
Reviewing our current
volunteer program and suggesting ways to increase effectiveness
Skills:
·
Out going personality a
must!
·
Excellent organizational
and communication skills
·
Experience running
volunteer programs desired
·
Experience reviewing
volunteer apps and resume and determining where their skills and wants
are a good fit would be ideal
·
Experience in coordinating
volunteers in a virtual environment a plus
Time Involved:
5-10 hours per month
