Virtual Volunteering

By joining our virtual team, you can contribute your many talents in a more flexible way.  Time and location are no longer restrictions that prevent concerned world citizens from making an impact.  Our volunteers can contribute after dinner from their own homes, during a short lunch break from the office, whenever and wherever it is convenient!  In this way we hope to recruit the many different skills of diverse individuals and combine them to battle this HIV/AIDS epidemic.

How can you help?

Any little thing that you have to contribute can make a difference.  Whether you’re an accountant, web page designer, photographer or consultant looking to develop your professional skills, or just someone with a big heart, you have something that can help our team. Live in Seattle? We often have opportunities in the community at our special events as well.

Current Opportunities

Auction Coordinator-

This is a volunteer position to develop, coordinate, and execute the silent auction at Roses & Rosemary’s annual fundraising event to be held October 2009. Opportunity to coordinate future auctions. Our silent auctions typically raise between $7000-$10000.

Auction Item Procurement-

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us procure silent auction items for our Fall Event on Friday October 16, 2009.  Every year our silent auctions raise thousands of dollars, making a very significant impact in the lives of HIV orphans.

Copy Writer/ Editor-

We are looking for an experienced copy writer/ editor to be responsible for helping us write creative and effective copy for our marketing materials, leaflets and web content.  We would also like this person to review our current materials and offer suggestions.

Donor Communication Coordinator-

We are looking for an extremely organized individual with strong communication skills to coordinate Roses & Rosemary’s donor communication and engagement materials working towards the ultimate goal of keeping our donors engaged and updated on our programs and how their donations are making a difference on the ground in Africa.

Donor Development Coordinator-

We are looking for an extremely organized individual with strong communication and computer skills to maintain Roses & Rosemary’s donor database and communicating with donors as needed working towards the ultimate goal of developing a strategic plan to cultivate and recruit new donors and retain our current base.

Volunteer Coordinator-

We are looking for an outgoing, highly organized individual to be responsible for the recruitment, retention and recognition of Roses & Rosemary volunteers working towards the ultimate goal of building a strong volunteer program which keeps our volunteers engaged.

Farmers Market / Street Fair Booth Team Member-

Have fun in the Seattle sunshine this summer while supporting a very worthy global cause! We are looking for outgoing and engaging individuals to man the Roses & Rosemary information booth at various street fairs and farmers markets in the area throughout the summer. Our goal is to increase awareness of the work of Roses & Rosemary, the impact our work has in the lives of the HIV orphans of Africa and how concerned citizens can help…even from thousands of miles away.  The booth, displays materials and speaking points will be provided!

Fall Fundraising Event Team Members and Leads-

We are looking for several people with big hearts to assist us with various tasks during our Annual Fall Event on Friday evening, October 16, 2009.  Each year our events are our biggest fundraisers, raising over $15,000 each year to provide direct support to HIV orphans in Africa. We need your help!

Endorphins for Orphans Program Lead-

Our Endorphins for Orphans program is to be a program that enables people to collect donations for sponsorship for completing a race or athletic event (running a marathon, swimming a distance, climbing a mountain, taking part in a team activity).  Basically any activity that gets your Endorphins going! 

In addition, the charity would one day (12 months timeline) like to host a road race in the Seattle Area for 300+ runners and gather sponsorship.

Jeans Days for Orphans Program Lead-

Our Jeans Days for Orphans program allows employees to wear casual clothes to work on Fridays for a $5 donation to the charity, with the agreement of their managers of course! Those participating would receive a small gift from Africa and would be able to work that day knowing they made a difference in the life of an HIV orphan in Africa.
